Zu Unterposition 2511 1000: Baryt enthält unterschiedlich hohe Anteile an Eisenoxid, Aluminium, Natriumcarbonat und Silicium. Da vorzugsweise das weiße Erzeugnis gewonnen werden soll, wird es zerkleinert, gesichtet (um die farbigen Anteile, meistens gelblich, zu entfernen), gemahlen, und durch mechanisches Fällen gereinigt. Zu Unterposition 2511 2000: Witherit kommt in Form rhombischer Kristalle oder als gelbliche wasserunlösliche Masse vor.
