Es ist eine farblose Flüssigkeit, die wie gewöhnliches Wasser aussieht. Es kann eine sirupartige Beschaffenheit haben; es ätzt die Haut, besonders wenn es konzentriert ist. Wasserstoffperoxid wird in Korbflaschen versandt. Wasserstoffperoxid ist in alkalischem Medium sehr instabil, besonders wenn es Hitze oder Licht ausgesetzt ist.
