In dieser Definition bedeutet der Ausdruck „chemisch-mechanisch gewonnene Holzfasern“ Fasern, die in verschiedenen technischen Halbstoff-Herstellungsverfahren gewonnen wurden, bei denen das Zerfasern ganz oder hauptsächlich in Anwendung mechanischer Kräfte auf das Rohmaterial erreicht wurde.
