Odporúčaná pracovná koncentrácia je od 0,5 do 50 ųg/ml. Tovar sa používa na vedecké účely, nie je určený na diagnostické alebo terapeutické použitia ani na výživu zvierat. Dodáva sa v množstve 100 ml ako vodný roztok.
Antibiotikum izolované z baktérie Streptomyces verticillus. V chelátovej štruktúre obsahuje katión medi. Vykazuje silnú toxicitu voči baktériám, hubám vrátane kvasiniek, rastlinným bunkám a bunkám cicavcov. Používa sa na vedecké účely, nie je určený na diagnostické alebo terapeutické použitie v humánnej medicíne alebo vo veterinárstve. Slúži na selekciu buniek. Dodáva sa v množstve 1 g (8 x 1,25 ml) alebo 5 g (50 ml) ako vodný roztok modrej farby.
