Erläuterungen zum Harmonisierten System (HS) Mehrschichtige Isolierverglasungen, die üblicherweise aus zwei oder mehr Glastafeln (Fensterglas, Spiegelglas, Floatglas, aber auch solche Arten wie gehämmertes Glas oder Kathedralglas) bestehen, die durch eine trockene Luftschicht oder eine Schicht inerten Glases getrennt und manchmal auch in Felder getrennt sind. Diese Tafeln sind an den Rändern durch eine Dichtung aus Metall, Kunststoff oder anderen Stoffen verschlossen, wodurch eine völlig luftdichte Einheit gebildet wird. Eine andere Art von mehrschichtigen Isolierverglasungen besteht aus zwei miteinander verbundenen Glasscheiben mit einer Zwischenlage aus Glasfasern. Diese Glasarten, die zum Verglasen von Fenstern, Dächern usw. verwendet werden, gewährleisten eine gewisse thermische und akustische Isolierung und verringern das Beschlagen des Glases.
