Ferroaleación que se presenta en forma de gránulos irregulares (granulometría de 0,7-3,7 mm) con un contenido de hierro superior al 4% y un contenido en silicio superior al 8% e inferior al 55%. Se obtiene a partir del tratamiento en horno eléctrico de silicatos obtenidos como consecuencia del tratamiento en horno de concentrados de minerales de cobre (a los que se añade sílice como fundente) pudiéndose adicionarle sílice para obtener las debidas concentraciones de silicato de hierro. Tras estos procesos se obtiene el producto líquido que posteriormente se somete a una inmersión brusca en agua al objeto de su granulación. Entre sus posibles usos se encuentran: formulación de cemento, materia prima de mezcla para la producción de hierro o acero, ligante hidráulico, agente abrasivo, fabricación de materiales de construcción, etc. Puede presentarse ante la aduana en big-bags con 1.500 Kg. de contenido.
