Erläuterungen zum Harmonisierten System (HS) Es gibt zwei Hauptarten von Weizen: 1) Weichweizen, weich, halbhart oder hart, gewöhnlich mit mehligem Bruch. 2) Hartweizen (siehe Unterpositions-Anmerkung 1 zu diesem Kapitel). Dieser ist im Allgemeinen von bernsteingelber bis brauner Farbe und hat gewöhnlich eine glasige, durchscheinende und hornartige Bruchstelle. Spelz, eine Weizenart mit kleinen braunen Körnern, dessen Spelzen sich beim Dreschen nicht vollständig vom Korn lösen, gehört ebenfalls zu dieser Position. Mengkorn ist ein Gemenge von Weizen und Roggen, meist von zwei Dritteln Weizen und einem Drittel Roggen. Für die Anwendung der Unterposition 1001 11 und 1001 91 umfasst der Begriff „Saatgut“ nur Weizen oder Mengkorn, der bzw. das von den zuständigen nationalen Behörden als Saatgut anerkannt ist
