Erläuterungen zum Harmonisierten System (HS) Hopfen sind die schuppigen Blütenzapfen der Hopfenpflanze (Humulus lupulus). Hopfen wird hauptsächlich beim Brauen verwendet, um dem Bier seinen charakteristischen Geschmack zu geben. Er wird auch zu Zwecken der Medizin verwendet. Hierher gehören die Blütenzapfen, frisch oder getrocknet, gemahlen oder sonst zerkleinert oder in Form von Pellets (entweder unmittelbar oder mit Zusatz eines Bindemittels in einer Menge von nicht mehr als 3 GHT durch Pressen zu Zylindern, Kügelchen usw. agglomeriert). Hopfenmehl ist ein gelbes, harziges Pulver, das die Blütenzapfen bedeckt; es enthält den bitteren, aromatischen und färbenden Stoff, dem der Hopfen zum großen Teil seine Eigenschaften verdankt. Es ersetzt beim Brauen zu einem Teil den Hopfen. Es dient auch medizinischen Zwecken. …

1. Zu Position 1207 gehören insbesondere Palmnüsse und Palmkerne, Baumwollsamen, Rizinussamen, Sesamsamen, Senfsamen, Saflorsamen, Mohnsamen und Sheanüsse (Karitenüsse).
