Erläuterungen zum Harmonisierten System (HS) Zu dieser Position gehören Lebensmittelzubereitungen aus Maniokstärke (Tapiokasago), aus Sagostärke (Sago), aus Kartoffelstärke (Kartoffelsago) sowie aus ähnlichen Stärken (von Maranta, Salep, Yucca usw.). Zum Herstellen dieser Zubereitungen wird Stärke mit Wasser zu einer dicken Paste verrührt, die man durch ein Sieb auf eine 120º C bis 150º C heiße Metallplatte tropfen lässt. Hier verkleistern diese Tropfen zu Kügelchen oder Klümpchen, die manchmal nachträglich zerstoßen oder granuliert werden. Nach einem anderen Verfahren wird Sago durch Behandlung einer Stärkepaste in einem mit Dampf erhitzten Behältnis gewonnen. Diese Waren weisen im allgemeinen die Form von Flocken, Graupen, Perlen oder Krümeln auf. Sie werden zum Herstellen von Suppen, Nachspeisen oder Diätkost verwendet.
