Die Lagen sind durch Pressen und Erhitzen und unter zusätzlicher Beifügung eines Bindemittels verbunden. Die Decklage der Bodenplatte ist dünn lackiert. Die mittlere Holzfaserschicht bildet an den Seiten gleichzeitig eine umlaufende Nut zum Zusammenstecken einzelner Platten. Die äußeren Korklagen verleihen der Ware auf Grund des Wertes und insbesondere im Hinblick auf die Bedeutung in Bezug auf die Verwendung als Fußbodenbelag den wesentlichen Charakter.
