Erläuterungen zum Harmonisierten System (HS) Nickel in Rohform kommt gewöhnlich in Form von Rohblöcken (Ingots), Masseln, Pellets, Würfeln, Rondellen, Briketts, Kugeln, Körnern, Kathoden oder in anderen Formen der elektrolytischen Abscheidung vor. Diese Primärformen werden meist bei der Herstellung von legierten Stählen, von Nichteisenmetalllegierungen oder von bestimmten chemischen Erzeugnissen eingesetzt. Einige dieser Formen werden auch in Titankörbchen beim Vernickeln oder bei der Herstellung von Nickelpulver verwendet. Das nicht raffinierte Nickel wird im Allgemeinen zu Anoden gegossen und dann elektrolytisch verfeinert. Diese Anoden haben gewöhnlich die Form gegossener Platten, die mit zwei Ösen zum Einhängen in das Nickelbad versehen sind.
