Materiał (granulat tworzywa sztucznego) zostaje pobrany za pomocą węża transportowego, w którym wytwarzane jest podciśnienie dzięki wirnikowi dmuchawy napędzanej bezpośrednio przez wał silnika, a następnie transportowane do zbiornika odbiorczego, z którego po zakończeniu procesu podawania przesypuje się grawitacyjnie do urządzenia odbiorczego (suszarki, wtryskarki, itp.). Wydajność urządzenia waha się w zależności od modelu między 300 kg a 700 kg materiału na godzinę, moc silnika waha się między 0,75 kW a 1,85 kW. Podajniki mogą występować z różnymi opcjami.
Podajnik podciśnieniowy rozłączny służy do podawania surowca w postaci granulatu na znaczną odległość. System rozłączny ułatwia obsługę zapewniając m.in. szybszą zmianę parametrów podawania, czy wymianę filtra powietrza.
