Se trata de un separador de antenas. El equipo se presenta en un chasis metálico rectangular robusto. Dispone de un panel metálico equipado con conectores coaxiales tipo RF y entradas de señal GPS, para la conexión de antenas. Il s’agit d’un dispositif passif permettant de répartir ou séparer le signal audiovisuel provenant de l’antenne « râteau » TNT ou l’antenne parabolique satellite à plusieurs sources, permettant ainsi de les afficher sur plusieurs récepteurs comme des téléviseurs ou des décodeurs TV. La fonction principale d’un répartiteur TV est de diviser le signal audiovisuel reçu en entrée en plusieurs sources en sortie, ces signaux pourront alors être reliés à 2, 3, 4 ou 6 récepteurs (selon référence) comme des téléviseurs ou des décodeurs TV. Le répartiteur TV permet ainsi à un foyer muni de plusieurs téléviseurs ou décodeurs TV de n’avoir qu’une seule source provenant de l’antenne râteau TNT ou l’antenne parabolique satellite. La source d’entrée est reliée au répartiteur TV à l’aide d’un câble coaxial muni de fiche type F vissable (conforme norme NF EN 60169-24). Les sources de sorties sont réparties vers les différentes pièces du logement à l’aide des câbles coaxiaux munis de fiches F également. Le répartiteur fonctionne sur la gamme de fréquence VHF-UHF entre 5 MHz et 2500 MHz. Le répartiteur TV est constitué d’un boîtier métallique en zamak (alliage à base de zinc) avec une entrée et plusieurs sorties (2, 3, 4 ou 6 selon référence), toutes avec filetage pour permettre le vissage avec des fiches type F des câbles coaxiaux. Les entrées-sorties peuvent être protégées avec un bouchon en plastique en attendant son installation définitive. En fonction de l’utilisation, des adaptateurs ou clips rail DIN peuvent être montés sur le boîtier pour permettre l’installation des répartiteurs TV sur le rail DIN. Il y a également 2 connexions vissables sur le boîtier pour le relier à la terre. Le boîtier métallique confère au répartiteur TV le blindage contre des perturbations électromagnétiques.
