Oktober 2010 hat das Finanzgericht Berlin-Brandenburg entschieden, dass gekochte, getrocknete Leinsamen, die zur Pferdefütterung bestimmt sind, in die Codenummer 1204 00 90 00 0 (Leinsamen, auch geschrotet, andere (als zur Aussaat)) einzureihen sind. Den rohen Leinsamen wird 5 bis 10 % Wasser zugesetzt. Anschließend erfolgt eine Infrarot-Strahler-Erwärmung auf ca. 130 °C innerhalb von 20 bis 30 Sekunden. Dadurch wird das Produkt entbittert, die Haltbarkeit wird verbessert und die Verwendung erleichtert.
